Our birds get to be in a natural environment while foraging on a diverse mixture of grasses and insects.
We start with day old chicks from a local hatchery. After three weeks they are placed out on pasture in a mobile chicken coop called a chicken tractor, which is moved to a fresh location every day. They have access to sun, shelter, water, a grain ration, and pasture.
You can see and taste the difference in our chickens
compared to commercially raised chicken
that you buy in a grocery store.
Pasture raised chicken meat has a healthier composition that is higher in vitamins, minerals, and omega 3 fatty acids than its conventional counterparts. It has 21% less total fat, 30% less saturated fat and 28% fewer calories than factory raised chicken.
How Do I Order?
If you don’t want to miss out, we highly suggest pre-ordering! We base our numbers off of pre-orders for the year but usually keep a supply on hand. We process chickens from June through September.
